Streetwear Collection: Don't Sweat It / It's Calm

Introducing "Don't Sweat It / It's Calm" our vibrant new collection (launching this AUTUMN) that merges staple streetwear pieces with art-infused designs to reflect on the meaning of responding to the world with a present mind.

SLAN is all about storytelling through clothing, and with this collection, each piece serves as a wearable mantra, reminding you to chill with the overthinking and respond to life's curveballs instead of just reacting

…Or as our founders would say… "Don't sweat it" and "It's calm".

This collection embodies a deep conversation between friends. Whilst we’re living in a time of mantras and daily affirmations, communication and mindfulness from an alternative perspective are desired but ironically, are undervalued more than ever, given the trials and tribulations we encounter in our everyday lives - can you relate?

That's why SLAN wants to advocate for the support system this drop. The idea of holding space for each other by simultaneously taking care of ourselves because isn't that what friends do? Isn't that what a community should do? Strengthen the "you" to build a stronger "we."

And to do that, we can’t sweat the things we can’t control, so let’s be calm about the things we can. You won’t know how deep the pond is until you jump in.

It’s funny how a small choice of words can give such a deeper meaning to things, but the understanding and the intention seems to align, regardless of the level of effort it takes to get to such a point right?

“To be happy is to be conscious”
- Shade Thompson

This collection is not a coping mechanism, it’s a daily affirmation in itself. A constant reminder that you are not just good, but you will be better, and if life decides to choose violence and tell you otherwise, leave it on read and start enjoying your day again.

“When looking back at your life, you will see that the moments which seemed to be great failures followed by wreckage were the incidents that shaped the life you have now”
- Joseph Cambell
